I’d already seen just about every blacksploitation movie made before trying this. Honestly it is only so-so. Weak on action, and Mr. Jonathan isn’t a very believable super-hunk. But there were enough of the classical elements – white crooks with bad hair – to sustain my attention. For all its limitations the film is better than, say, Fred Williamson’s shot in Italy bombs. If you are new to blackploitation films you’d be better off with Superfly and Pam Grier’s catalog. But if you’ve fan of the genre and are coming close to exhausting the catalog you should find some entertainment in this.
